Michael, I want to thank you so much for your web site. It's always so great to hear how others with Multiple Myeloma deal and what roads they chose while going through it. I happened upon your web site while searching and saw a note from a dear friend, with the same disease, Kay Cromie. I was diagnosed back in 1997, just as I was turning 50. At that point, I was given 2 to 3 years to live, at best. I'm not normally a "freek out" person, that day I was.

To make a long story short, I'm still here, snubbing my nose. I've seen my two beautiful daughters marry wonderful husbands and have the luxury of enjoying three incredibly great "grand" kiddos (little impartiality???). I had a stem cell transplant back in 2006 (when I found out I had a perfect head when bald - that's good?) but unfortunately the intended reaction did not last as long as exected. But, with the wonderful work of the R&D department have been able to work with varous "cocktails" of medications that keep getting developed and approved. I share your positive attitude. I truly feel that this attitude it is as good, or an additive of the medications we receive. It's difficult to become negative when your fellow chemo chums, nurses, volunteers and doctors feed you nothing but goodness, encouragement and smiles.

I am blessed, as I know you also found, to have such an intensively supportive family, friends, co-workers, extended frends of my family, more than I could ever imagine. I just hope that, should you ever find yourself in Vermont, please give me a holler. I would be honored to have you all meet with us and tell your story. I am part of an increcible Multiple Myeloma "support group". Each of us has had a different reaction and treatment for the same disease. We meet every month and are truly not only sharing the same problems but a friendship as well. Again, thank you and your family so much for sharing. I would love to hear from you.

Manuel and I have been following the blog and this two part story was wonderful! How cool was it for us to see you guys playing together? You both sounded great, but the piano could have been louder.. ;) (Of course, as piano players ourselves, we always think that.)
